dome light

Hello, I am having trouble with my dome light. It doesnt go on when I open the doors but it works when switched on. I have replaced the accuaters in the door but still no luck. Thank You!!

check that the plastic that the switch arm rides against isn't melted.
Mine had that same problem and I had to tweak it alittle bit to get it to work. Now it comes on when the doors open, but it's flakey when I switch it on manually.

Hi, I replaced the dome light with a new one but still have the same problem. Any suggestions?

Common problem is the right rear hatch shock grounding point. Do a search here on interior lights, and I'll bet ya find more than ya wanted to know.

Rear hatch light works fine, just the front light won't come on when door is open.

Is the front overhead light switch in the correct position for it to come on?

Front switch is in correct position.

Well ensure that the grounding wire from the door actually makes it all the way to the light otherwise it will not trigger the light.

Just check continuity.

yeah......what alex said above. Take door switch off jamb again, and check it. It must create a ground path for light to work when door is opened. Maybe there is a bad connection to the back of switch, or it disconnected from switch on the last install?
