944S chain guide. Where?
I am looking at changing my cam chain upper guide pad and posibly other parts related to it. Where is a good place to purchase these parts or better yet who has them? How can you tell your tensioner is bad???

Zim's is about the only place I've seem them
http://www.***********/acatalog/944_968_Chain_Tensioner_Pad.html I could not find in Pelican parts I have a new one I was going to replace mine. When I pulled mine apart for the reseal last year mine had zero wear. PM me and we can make a deal. |
I'm taking a look at it tomarrow. I will deff. get back with you:)
While you're at it, let me know how your valve cover bolts came out. I have to do my tensioner soon, and something tells me that those bolts are gonna be a bear to get out............
The bolts arent that hard to loosen. I checked the tensioner and chain guide and it looks new. The tensioner is good and tight and the pad is in top shape.
make sure to check and probabaly replace the "J" tube, they can break and can cause problems
Does anyone know what the exact measurement is and where I can get a hex socket to remove the valve cover bolts? I'm thinking about going to Sears this week to buy the socket and inspect my own chain guide.
its an 8 mm socket if I can remeber I jsut did a cam cover reseal on my S2 last week.
