I saw two halves of a set of PCCBs (Porsche Composite Ceramic Brakes fyi) on ebay the other day for $3800~ each, and it got me to thinking. Assuming one could take the financial hit of these bad boys, how hard would it be to fit them to a 944? Is there a precedent?
Just curiosity as there's no way I'm dumping twice what my car is worth into a set of brakes right now.

they could, in theory, fit.
They also cost $4500 each to replace (rotors) new. AFJ

I am thinking it would be incredibly problematic...
Firstly, you would have to fit very large wheels and tires in order to leave room for the enormous calipers and rotors. I am thinking a minimum of 18"... but maybe 19". This would require spacers, of course... and apparently the handling characteristics of the 944NA are adversely affected by wheels over 17" in diameter (I have heard this from a number of sources who had been tempted by the prospect of Turbo Twists). Besides the handling, I would also worry about rubbing, ride height.... ach, the side effects alone are giving me a headache. I think PCCBs would almost be too much brake for a 944NA (if that is possible). Upgrade to 951 or 928 systems, or, if you really want to spend the money, buy the Brembo "Big Red" systems.
