Q about R134a AC conversion kit install

Hi,

I am completing the install of the R134a conversion kit BUT,
the new compressor's bracket for the extension rod is located further than the OEM, and unfortunately, I couldn't get the belt tightened before the rod runs out of length....

At first I thought I got an extra long belt by mistake but, no, it's about the same as the old one.

Did anybody have this problem before? And how did you resolve it?

Where did you get this "kit"? I'd be bugging the hell out of the vendor.

OK, seems like it's a generic kit, as I had the same problem

NAPA sells a belt that is just a tiny bit smaller, but not too small. They also sell the 90% fitting as well. The problem being that you can't get to the fitting etc ....

when I did mine, there was NO R-12 left at all, so I just changed fittings and belt, and away I go .....

no issues with the oil cuz everything was dried up, the only thing is that the o-rings may go soon, but it's been close to a year and still OK, and I live in Cali.... always hot.

Don
