Does anyone out there have a 944 that they are parting out? The cooling fan switch wiring harness has failed on my car and the high speed fans no longer work! Cooling fan 1 (passenger side) has failed as a result of this.
I spent an hour this morning troubleshooting why it won't come on! I had check the cooling fan fuses and both are perfectly fine! Cooling fan 2 (driver side fan) only comes on when the car hits hash mark right before the red, and when the AC fan is switched on. It turns on only low speed not high speed. Last time both would come on when the AC fan was switched on. I had this same problem last year, repaired the wiring harness and both fans worked after. However, the fans no longer come on again and I suspect the harness again. It's time to replace it. If possible can someone cut the fan switch harness off the car and about 5-6" of wire coming from it so I can splice it into my car to replace my faulty harness? I need one ASAP.

IMHO It is your fan that is the original cause of the first failure. It is binding or is shorted internally and is drawing too much current which over heats the wiring.
You're in California there are a lot of Porche junk yards around. I'm sure you can get both fans and the harness at a fairly good price.
