Carb/Smog legal headers in CA
Hi all,
I'm new here so HELLO everybody!!! ![]() I have a question concerning headers. My exhaust manifold cracked last weekend (or at least I noticed it then) so I need to replace them. I was looking at some cool headers from different companies. However, since I live in CA, I'm dealing with Smog. Are there any companied that make Carb approved headers? And then another question. I noticed there are 2 different OE manifolds out there, a steel version (what I have) but also a cast iron version. What the story on that? Thanks for all the advice!!!

OK, I just bought cast iron exhaust manifolds from Ebay. Can anybody tell me what the difference is between the steel ones (that I have right now) and cast iron ones??? These are OE Porsche parts with OEM # 944.111.133.2R and 944.111.131.2R. They fit 83-88 N/A engines.
What models did they come on originally and what is the difference in performance? Thanks!!!
