Sans rear stabilizer bar
My 83 model came without a rear stabilizer bar. The factory manual states that a 14 mm bar was optional for the early vehicles. Thicker bars were specified for later models.
Will it make any noticeable difference if a bar is fitted? Were all the rear stabilizers the same (apart from the thickness)? The vehicle is used as a weekly driver.

Adding a bar will defenetley reduce the amount of body roll you feel from the rear end of the car. Your front bar stock is probably 20mm.
If i were you, i would look for a set of used sway bars from a 944 Turbo. They are usually pretty easy to find and will help the handling of your car a great deal. Just remember you will need some hardware to get the rear bar on your car. That includes droplinks, eccentric bolts and assorted bolts. The information on this page should be helpful to you. http://www.tech-session.com/kb/index.php?page=index_v2&id=23&c=4

some have said it's the single best upgrade you can do to the suspension to your car (in terms of jobs that are cost effective).
"best bang for the buck" it seems...
