Question wur and fuel pump??????

Hello guys and gals. It have been awhile since I have posted and had to make another ID because I couldn't get logged in to ask a simple question.

Anywho, will a defective wur (warmup regulator) cause the fuel pump not operate properly? (1978 Porsche 924)

The pump will energize, but then it will quit running?

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

Thanks, a million.

No, A defective WUR will cause the engine to run like garbage, but it will not shut down the fuel pump.

The contact switch in the sensor plate housing can shut down a fuel pump, bad relays and the like

If the contact on the sensor plate is bad how can it be fixed? I have not ever seen one for sell. (I am assuming you are talking about the plug in on the sensor plate)

And, thank you for your reply.

Yes, the safety contact is replacable.

911.110.929.00 is the part number

Will the pump run if you jump the fuel pump relay? Is the pump getting voltage, and the pump is just siezing up?

Yes, the pump runs when jumped. When you turn the key to start the engine you can hear the pump run, but then it quits running and the engine uses the gas in the system before it dies.
(it just runs briefly) It did run then all of a sudden this started.
I am difilently going to get the new part. It can't hurt to have a new one anyway.
