Expansion tank hose?

Can anyone tell me where this hose goes to which is connected to the side of the expansion tank on my s2.It appears to go straight down and then pass through the wall in the engine bay right by the expansion tank breather hose.I'm trying to trace a slight coolant leak that i have and i'm wandering if this hose is the culprit.

Well on my 83 that tube goes to the Top of the radiator right above the fan switch where the upper radiotor hose also connects

The plastic nipple on the radiator that this hose connects to has been known to crack. Also the tank where the nipple and the fan switch screw in has been known to crack. A real pain to identify with out removing the radiator.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

Same as disconnecting the top hose on the radiator.
