There seem to be more tales of street racing, dodgy jokes by Ted's mates, and general flaming than ever. I'm not interested in a community where a small group of people run the place by domination. That's like High school!

I hang out mostly on the Track/DE/Racing forum, but I do visit the 944 forums more than once a day as well.

One of the things I don't understand is the attitude of some of the Rennlisters about this matter. Given some are very concerned but there are several that:

1. They act like ripping someone off for $300 on the seats is not a big deal.

2. The fact that Zman was lied to about the struts is no big deal. They keep stating that no money was lost. The lying seems to make no difference.

3. There may be more people that have similar dealings with this person and have not come forward because of his position on the forum. But the attitude is if we don't know it won't hurt, lets keep it private and off the forum. If someone on the forum ripped me off and then I found out he had ripped other members off and they had not made it known, I wouldn't be happy.

4. Some of the people that hijacked the 2nd thread about the deletion of the 1st were trying to be humorous. Maybe I need to sell them some seats for $300 and never deliver. Where would the humor be?

As I disagree. It's become a psuedo-Porsche Club. It was disdainful to attempt to get support in a community and be treated as an underling simply because I didn't have the money to be a paid member. I'll stick with real communities like this and the 914club site where real enthusaists hang. Rennlist reminds me too much of the whine and cheeb crowd that's infiltrated my local PCA, hence why I no longer run their website, work as a board member, etc. I deter from groups with thinking like that.

I'm not grouping you in there with them, but in my experience that's the kind of people mainly inhabit that place. I've yet to be burned by a fellow pelicanite or 914clubber. With my luck, that will never change as I only meet good people here, like McFly944, FR Wilk, SoCal Driver, KenInCalif, Scottmandue, Pokey, PorscheOPhile... etc etc...

I think that the Chinese could learn a thing or two about revisionist history there.

I'm surprised that Z-man hasn't been banned yet...Heck, all I did was let a couple of listers know that I had some parts they were looking for! I guess that if I had promised the parts to them and then not delivered I would be promoted to moderator...
