Porsche Crest Ever Heard of an '83 "Sport Suspension"?

I'm thinking about buying an '83 944 that the seller says has the factory "sport suspension" option. He says it has 21.5mm front anti-sway bar and a 14mm rear anti-sway bar and Koni Adjustable shocks. Is anyone familiar with this setup and can you give me any information on it? Thanks much.

It's option # 45-something. I have it on my '83. Not sure on the shocks, because the PO switched them out with KYBs. They might have had Bilsteins, though.

They do come with a smallish rear swaybar and a decent front swaybar.

The ride is decent on all but the worst pavement. If you hit bad expansion joints or such, it gets choppy to the point where you're afraid you'll break something on the car.

The rear sways ARE Konis, but I'm pretty sure that they aren't adjustable

83 "Sport Suspension" Research

Gentlemen, thanks for your input, and nice to hear from you Bryan. (Don't want to hijack my own thread) I got off the "Porsche Boat" for a few months while I generated $ to buy a house. I think I can start playing again now!

I'm a little confused by the Koni Sway Bar feedback - I think its stock Porsche OEM.

I will ask the seller if he has the sales receipt to confirm option #45.

I found a couple of websites that listed a "Sport" as a 944 option from 83 - 86 and again from 86 on. It said the rear wheels had a different offset(?!) but I could not find any details on the suspension. This is the link to one of the two sites:

My 85 had the sport suspension option on it and had yellow shocks and struts, I assumed they were Koni's. I also thought the sway bars were different but i could be mistaken.

Under the carpet in the rear should be the sticker listing the options.

my 85.5 had the option too, and while my rears are koni yellows, my fronts are black, but still have the koni adjustment knob up top. so i dont know if they are really koni up front or if another brand has the same adjustments

oops, when i said "Koni sway bars," i meant "Koni shocks"... the sway bars for the 83 944 sport option are 21.5 front 14 rear, OEM. The rear shocks are Konis, but I don't think they are adjustable. If I am wrong, let me know.

None of my shocks are adjustables, and I believe my fronts are original. If not, the owner cheaped out. I'll have to fix that sometime when I have cash laying around.
