I might have to sell my beloved.

I think i may have to give up. I love my car. I can't afford it though and i feel like im letting it die. I need a new brake job asap, new timing belt replaced, and to fix a vaccum leak. I dont have the funds necessary to fix my car and it just gets worse everyday. Im thinking i should just give it to someone who has the time and money to work on her. I don't know what to do. I love it too much but soon i probably won't be able to drive it because it may kill me or be killed by me. Its a 944 83' with about 70k miles. Who wants it..Make an offer if you want.

Guess I need to create the Church Of The Lost 944 and take your car as a tax deductable donation.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

Brakes shouldnt be to expensive if you do it yourself.

For the timing belt find someone local who can help you out.

Vacuum leak - give more specifics and someone here might be able to help out.

If you cant afford to do belts or brakes on a 944 this really isnt going to change if you get another car

I'm going to put a flag on my antenna at half staff. Sounds like a sad day. I second what DaveL said though. Get a second job...do something!

how many miles are you pushing? The belt you can get away with just doing the belt, which will prevent an outright snap and when you come into a bit more money than you can get it all done properly. Odds are the rollers will be ok. $30 belt and im sure you can get someone to do it for you for cheap from the boards. brakes will bite you a bit no way around that, but the vacuum leak will be like $3 when you figure out which hose is leaking. dont get rid of it unless you have to!

i did a full round of brakes pads and rotors on my car, using cross drilled on the fronts... and all added up cost less than $200 when my buddy did the work for me.
