16" Fuchs/ Tires on an Early 944
I'm thinking about putting some 16" fuchs 7/8s on an early 944. My understanding is the 23mm offset for the early 944 is compatible with the 911 offset for 15" wheels. Is the same true for 16" wheels? Any comments?
What is the best tire size to go with for front and back? This will not be for racing, so whatever looks/ performs the best is what I'll go with. Thanks! |
16" 911 7&8 Fuchs are perfect for your early 944.

What Size Tire for 16" on 944
Thanks for the feedback. What size tires should I run?
|
205s are certainly wide enough, but my dream setup is 205/16X7/50 front, 225/16X8/50 rear
|
I have 205/50/16s on the front and 225/45/16s on the rear wheels.

My 84 on Fuchs--16x7 front with 225/50/16 and rear 16x8 with 245/50/16..I like the beefy look

Great looking car! Looks like you added a Turbo/S2 rear wing as well. Interesting location for the hood scoop, Is that to dump fresh air into an aftermarket cone type airfilter? Usually the scoops dump cool air onto the exhaust manifold, like the 924 Carrera GT and some aftermarket scoops (like in picture).
Your 300ZX scoop looks alot like the one in this pic. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1138718127.jpg I personally like the scoop on the 924 Turbo, not so big & clunky like the original Carrera GT. Here's mine. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1138718511.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1138718530.jpg |
The scoop sits a few inches in front of a K&N cone under the hood.I actually wanted the Carrera hood scoop but it was to expensive($249) so I opted for this one off Ebay for $40 bucks. It is held in by 4 studs underneath and works very well.Im sure it helps in bringing down high intake temps that come along with running an open cone type filter.Sounds sweet too. Brown,,Sorry for hijacking your thread. These pics have been seen before and Im sure these guys are sick of em..I guess Im a bit of a showoff. If you opt for Fuchs and price is an issue, the ones pictured above on my car are replicas and Ive driven on them 2 years problem free. But dont tell anyone;) ..
Capri-Great looking nose.Im hoping to do something similar this year if funds allow.. |
Mitsu when you upgrade let me know, I can buy your old parts as my red 44 had some lateral problems in the space time continuum
|
If the conversion happens,I'll let ya know..
