I dont wanna turn

well, just recently, I noticed that my cars turning signals stopped working. They were fine the other day. Now, when i use the turn signal lever, the turn signal indicator light stays a steady green instead of blinking and its not making that clicky noise either. Any ideas???

have you checked your blinker fluid?
just jokeing.

check of you bulbs, make sure there is no excessive bulb play
and clean contacts, then coat with new bulb grease.

if that dont do it then you may have an eletrical issue inside the steering coloum

in your fuse box panel under the hood, G4 is the location, should show on the map under the lid.

Look in the owners manual. If you don't have one I'll scan the page. I replaced mine and it still didn't fix it. I was told on here I needed a new switch. So hope you got a lot of $$ if you want a new black one. A new brown one is about 1/3 or less the price. You can check out my post about this too, "Damn turn signals, i need help" http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?threadid=263228.

What i mean is a replacible flashing unit. once these burn out
the lights will only come on and not flash, in some cases they dont completly go out but flash very very slow.

at least in american GM cars. i was wondering if 944s had them
of if it was strictly a relay

Yeah. I bet the bracket is broken the holds the cable. I know it is in my car and I couldn't figure it out for a while. It's a black slider cable. You might have to take the carpeting off the side to get to it. Mine is already gone.

For the flasher, it's the relay itself, it's failed inside.
There is a variable resistor on the board, and it has gotten old/dirty, and is no longer making contact at all. The variable resistor is used to adjust the rate at which the lights flash. If it goes open-circuit, the time goes to infinity. At least this is the case with the late flasher units. I'd imagine they are the same on the early cars too.

In the case of the late cars, this leaves the light inside off, but the outside lights on (they are opposite on late cars).

after reading this thread i started wondering about my own 944.
and it seems all work but the euro only flashing marker light
on the aft of the drivers side fender. the passenger side works fine
and i also noticed the left turn signal pulses considerbly faster than the right. explanation?
