85 na h2o pump
anybody replaced there non-turbo water pump
with a rebuilt one. i would like to just remove and replace the non-turbo original one in my early 85 944?the car is a street car no upgrades just stock.i know a lot have upgraded to the turbo pump but if a rebuilt na pump has worked for you let me know. vendors to recommend??

Only one type of pump available -- turbo. You might find a rebuilt rebuilt that has the non-turbo casting but I doubt it. Besides the turbo pump must add at least 10 HP!
You will have to replace the timing and balance belts too. If you cut the back cover a certain way you can leave the balance shaft and crank pulleys on. I would reseal them if they are leaking.

There are three rebuilt types of pump available.
1. Original early without the block-off plate or timing belt guide. 2. Earlyish with the timing belt guide, without the block off plate. 3. Fit's everything with the block off plate and timing belt guide. These are for all 2.5 NA engines, the #3 one fits the 944 Turbo as well.
