The ultimate in wishfull thinking

Got the new garage all finished and cleaned up over the weekend so I was able to collect my two Porsches from the storage places they had been kept. On the way home in the 914 I stopped at a light behind a brand new Dodge mini van. I happened to look at the tailgate and saw it there in bold letters.

I was following the new "Sport edition" minivan. I just about wet my pants lauging. Complete with semi-low profile tires on aluminum wheels. It was just so funny.

"Coming to an Auto-x near you.... The new Dodge Grand Caravan, SPORT edition.."

"Honey, now that we have all the little ankle biters running around, I guess I'll trade in my sports car on a mini-van as long as it is the SPORT edition. I'll be able to keep my manlyhood in tact that way.." ROFL!!!!

Sorry if this offends any of you out there, I just found it incredibly humorous. But, I am wierd, and childfree for life.

Yea I love how some companies are trying to make ther big clumpy cars into "sport edition". Im mean really do we really want people in VANS and SUV's driving like its a Porsche. Then they wonder why people flip them over so much. I hate it when I see a SUV screaming by and weaving in and out of traffic on the highway.

My minivan will spank my 944 in 0-60.

And it isn't even a sports edition.

you laugh, but a couple years ago there was a turbo caravan I think that was turning some insane numbers in the 1/4 mile...

that said, I'd take a 914 over a caravan any day

(oh, wait, I already did that... years ago)

damn, I wish I had the $$$ to get that thing back on the road. Oh well. at least I have the '44.

I build race cars that go 0 to 60 in under a second....but like your minivan...just don't ask either one to turn! ...and turning over doesn't count. Being a drag racer, I've done that a couple times too. If you need to go fast and turn (and of course look cool doing it) ...stick with the 944.

Turbo van has been done folks. They weren't screamers...but with any turbo car...it had potential.

I freakin HATE working on previas, who puts a engine under a car where you cant get to it. As for the 05 sienna, TRD doesnt make a SC for that v6 application But the new sion TC's and Tacoms have SC kits

There are "Sport" editions of a lot of random cars. A friend has a Corolla S... as far as I can tell the only difference is sharper-looking hubcaps!

Yup, but dont forget the body kit, and fake carbon fiber interior. But the new corolla gts is sweet with the bigger 175hp 4 cyl with VVTL-I and a 6 speed, sounds like fun

it's kinda like the OZ racing version of the mitsubishi car about 2 or 3 years back. The only difference was a spoiler and rims, no extra power or anything, just looks.

I had the chrysler 2.5 turbo minivan. You can work on that engine with your eyes closed. I did break a few timing belts, slapped a new one on and kept going. Rock solid motor after they worked out the head gasket issues on the later ones. Trannies sucked though. Easy to modify to make very decent HP. Also there are some sleepers lurking as people just love to blow the doors off of some stock "cool"car when they have a little extra under the hood.
