How to disable central locking
Have an 87 951 with the central locking system, problem is I go out to the car after its been sitting a while and the locks are up again. I just want to disable the system until have time to tear into it. Is there are relay for this? Or a control brain? I can't find it in my manuals.

you can prolly just unplug the switch
|
I was thinking about that, however I wondered how much interaction the switch had with the rest of the system.

You could pull the fuse.
|
Ahh, but which fuse is it? This is another thing I can't locate.
|
Does the late 944 come with a central locking system? If so, mine came DOA.
|
The central locking mechanism (box) is under the dash clipped to the steering column. Black box.....Uhmmmm 2 inches wide, 3 inches long..... 1 inch deep. Not much to it. You pull that out of the plug.
It is probably locking on you because the microswitches on the door handles are faulty or out of alignment. |

Fuse #8 controls only the central locking system. Pulling this should disable it for you, untill you can track down the problem.
Good luck |
Thanks guys, that did the trick. Once I get the engine back in my 911 I'll tackle the micro-switches.

Does the late 944 have a central locking system?
|
It was an option.
