Bilstein question
Hi,
I recently installed brand new Bilstein inserts and Weltmeister 250lbs springs on the fron and Bilstein shocks in the rear. However, there seems to be something funny going on. When I come to a full stop, the car wiggles a little bit as if it's not being dampned and just working on the spring. It's pretty annoying actually and it almost seems as if there is a little play in the insert. I don't hear any noises coming from the front. I do have the right part numbers of both springs and inserts. Could it be that the spring overpowers the insert? Has anybody ever experienced this??? |
That could be caused by the tires flexing because the suspension is so stiff. It's a little giggle right?
|
Yep, that's what it is. Wow, is that really the tires? Didn't even think about that.

In simulator's, I know it could indeed be the tires that cause that. Whether its what is doing it for you or not in this case, I don't know.
|
you could try playing with your tires pressures to see if the "giggle" changes.

When I have race rubber on my giggle goes away. On streets it is there.

At least now I know it's supposed to be there and there's no need to take the whole shock apart again... :D |
