I thought maybe the hose split right at the tip of the fitting, but it *looks* like a loose connection, and I say that only because I cant see any pieces of rubber around the top (as seen in the photo) of the fitting, and the clamp is still attached to the hose, but is above the fitting...
i'm gonna go out in daylight tomorrow (i was working under a desk lamp at 9pm tonite and found it...) and try to get my fat paw in there to see if it can be reattached. might even call the girlfriend in on this one. she's got itty bitty hands... well, compared to mine...

hehe alex.. correct you are my man... they passed a visual inspection, but i only found it when i used the hose-in-ear method as suggested by someone else on here...
then i pushed the hose with a screw driver and i saw what you see in that pic.. quick question... the black hose you see in the immediate foreground going on top of the intake manifold... is that a fuel line? i wanna see if i can get my mit (or a pair of plyers to try to push the hose back on) in there tomorrow and i'll wanna have to move that black hose out of the way... if it's a fuel line it'll need to be pushed.. if it's an air line i can just disconnect it.

Dude, anybody who stays up with their sick car working on it under the light of a desk lamp deserves to have it run!

Hey Eldorado,
Congrats, I'm sure you're ready to get it going. Thanks for asking about Boston. The site is up and running with my set of computers and we are ready for race day on Monday. Hopefully, I can relax a little tomorrow through Monday as you can see by the post time, I haven't been getting to bed too early. Let us know how all this works out.

value of a running 944...
priceless... the hose literally popped right on with little difficulty... looked in from the drivers side, reached in around the passenger side of the manifold.. grabbed the hose, and pop! I've got a running 944 again ![]() now to replace that stupid vinyl hose i put in yesterday...
