The owners manual does say you can use it, but it also says,

However, we strongly recommend to switch back to gasoline without ethanol, if you experience any of the following problems with your vehicle:
• Deterioration of driveability and performance.
• Substantially reduced fuel economy.
• Vapor lock and non-start problems, especially at high altitude or at high temperatures.
• Engine malfunction or stalling.
Continued use of gasohol under these con-
ditions may cause costly damage to the fuel
system and the emission control system of
your vehicle.

So that said, it tells me they did have problems with some cars. And the part about continued use may cause costly damage to the fuel system and the emission control system, scares the hell out of me.

"continued use... under these conditions."

simple answer, if the car drives fine with it, then drive it... these are just warnings to tell you not to if they occur.. to me, it's only a red flag if my car starts to stall, lose fuel economy, or promote vapor lock.

if you read, literally, exactly what they say here.. you're safe until you experience these warnings... if you do, switch to gas, and you're free of the "damage to the fuel system and emission control system".

this is the same arguement as the regular filter vs. k&n filter... there's no hard proof.. and nobody can win a debate over it. people will use whatever they want..

The whole Ethanol thing is still a huge debate. It's good for the midwest since we produce the corn used (not like Sweet Corn!). Even having a friend that owns 3 plants I tend to stay out of the debate....

But yeah, I would agree... why would you pay the same? That makes no sense at all. I think it's the gas company stickin it to ya, not the Ethanol guys?? Dunno? It's suppose to be cheaper, that was the whole idea and that it does burn cleaner too.
gases wasnt 100% before it contained a chemical called mbte, which is an octane additive, they are phasing it out everywhere because mbte is very bad for your health, i work on gas pumps/tanks/pos for a living, i would suggest you change you fuel filter soon because the ethanol is going to clean all the **** out of your tank and clog your filter.

^^^ i second that suggestion.
if you use ethanol, you've gotta change your fuel filter a bit more often..

Another corrosive aspect of ethanol... you're gonna need a stainless exhaust system otherwise hello rust! from the inside-out even.
