Combo lock e-brake
May is interior month so far. I'm actually replacing the rear speakers!
Anyway, I have an e-brake handle assembly with the combination lock on it and was wondering how it comes apart, and, once apart, how I go about resetting the combination. Is it even worth it? I've already fixed my old one and was tinkering with this one. Thought it might be neat to use. Ideas?

i'm gonna take a guess at resetting the lock here...
on an old briefcase that used to lay around the house here, you would set the combo (provided it's a series of numbers on wheels, and not a turn-dial lock).... set it to the combo, push the button in and hold... reset the numbers to what you want the combo to be, then release... if you dont know the combo... then i have no idea how to reset it.

Ah, there's the rub. I have no idea what the combo was. I was hoping to take it apart and set up a new one.

Alright. I've tried brute force and ignorance. Now for brains. Since the brains are here on this site, I propose this:
It's a 3-number combination. Everybody gets as many guesses as he/she wants. The winner will get a destroyed connecting rod from a 931, providing I don't get the handle apart and reset the combo first. Of course, suggestions on just how to do this would be best.

is it something like this?
http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=C13-9957 how secure would it be if you could easily take the lock apart and change the combo? i dunno... i stand by the brute force.. dont even need to look at it.. just go one by one while watching tv or something... or, like i said, find a little guy in the neighbourhood that was like me as a kid.. when my dad's briefcase got stollen (the one mentioned in my post above) and later recovered by the police, the combo was different... and i had the case open before we left the station. lol anyway, this was just a big long post to say that i dont have a clue.. if someone else could chime in, go for it! lol
