self adjusting pedals
hey all,
I noticed since i started takin my 944 out this spring n summer that the brake and clutch pedals become very stiff after being driven for a while. Duno what could be causing this, is this normal for 944s? it even gets to a point where i lose acceleration. What should i do? Im sure its due to the fluid expanding in the warmer temperatures but the stiffening makes me worry somethins wrong. Thanks in advance.

My clutch does this, too. I'm just going to adjust the freeplay in the pedal, partly because I put in a new slave cylinder yesterday. However, I noticed the same change in the friction point before the repair, and it did seem that temperature affected it. I think stock pedal freeplay should be about 3mm - maybe I'll go for a bit more in case fluid expansion ends up putting preload on the slave cylinder.

Hey, bigbird944, an update for you.
I adjusted my clutch pedal freeplay and that cured the problem. Chances are this fix'll work for you in this case.
