Connections to Motonic DME?
I have an 89 944S2 which is a dedicated track car. I would like to install a new dash with tach, oil temp, speedo, etc.
I know that this year did not have an OBD II port, but is there a way to take contacts off of the DME for output for tach, etc? David |

Tach should be easy. In the passenger footwell look for a red block connector. It has up to four wires in/out and four contact spots. #2 is a green/black wire. Assuming its the same as Turbos/Late NA's, thatll be the Tach signal. Standard 4 cyl tach signal, so any normal aftermarket tach should work fine.
Speedo isnt managed by the DME, it has its own sensor. Oil temp will be a custom job.

Thanx. My complete dash is out, with wires hanging. I will look for the red block connector.
I would like to set up an AIM or similar data logger/GPS system and am looking for the easiest method of wiring. |
