Thumbs up 1987 944 auto for sale

here is a car in my town, Corpus Christi...

it is a used car dealer but the car is VERY, VERY nice...

ADSACK.com
1987 PORSCHE, AC, power windows/locks, sunroof, alarm, runs great, $3750. Call Charlie, 658-9555.

I've seen this car before for sale about a year or so ago. Private military owner then asking $5000. As I recall the miles were around 100K at the time. But now the odometer says 040K. My memory could be wrong but it is the VERY SAME car.

I went to look at it no knowing it was an automatic. I didn't even drive or start it. But the car is just way too nice to let it sit and some high school kid buy it.

Window sticker said either $4999 or $4499, I didn't look that closely. I told one of the sales guy I wasn't really interested in the car since it was an Auto and that it would be a hard sell to a Porsche enthusiast and as an auto maby worth $2000 to me. I think he went down to $3200 pretty quick but I tried to tell him I wasn't looking to buy since it was an auto.

Then the lot owner came along and we talked for a little. I suggested eBay or something like that since an auto is rare, all though not desireable except to a very few buyers. Anyway, he said he had $2300 in the car and he would make his money on it. Some girl might buy it being an auto.

Anyway, I have no connection to this dealer or car other than to recognize it at one of the cleanest 944s out there. Original red paint. Interior very nice tan, with very minor flaws. Well above average for 944 condition I think.

Sorry, no service records or any type.

Someone save this car...

It gets drive about 2 miles a day back and forth to school and the rest of the time its in the garage getting clean or getting worked on. Oh and I forgot, She is NEVER raced!!!!!! 'cause it's not wourth wasting the gas.

I got my 944 when I was highschool aged to. Most high school kids who get a 944, will probably love the car.

I was a senior in HS when I got my 924S and have babied it pretty much ever since. It now is in storage and gets driven about 25 miles every other weekend. It depends on your aquisition I guess. I poured everything I had into that car, as it was my dream to own something bearing the Porsche crest...

Now if the car was bought for a high school kid by someone other than the kid himself... and it was driven like a cavilier... then there lies the problems.

An auto 944... shiver.

OK, I guess I touched a raw nerve here....

but I bought my 944S with a spun rod bearing from some HS kid who ran it low on oil. A beautiful car for someone who didn't appreciate the value of taking care of things they didn't buy.

It's been a long drawn out process of repair for me. But I think it will be worth it.

I would have loved a 944 in HS, but then that would have been a new $40,000 car back then too, LOL

but true. Corpus is full of beat down 944s. There is a total rust bucket one street over from me. The guy had it out for sale once for like $3xxx. And it was an early 944. Looked like he ran it on the beach and got stuck at high tide. Aren't these cars galvanized?

A 951 lives 3 blocks away and that house is mosquito free. More smoke than my diesel rabbit.

There is one that's got so much bling bling that I think even a gang-banger would puke.

Plenty of wrecked 944s here in town.

BUT, also some very sweet and well loved 944s too. The kind that just make you drool. Especially when most are just beat dogs

Mine, and my brothers '84 are pretty well taken care. Of older brother who owns the '86 isn't that regular on checking things - it has been low oil before, but I caught that one. I have to go around everynow and then and check up on all the fluids of the 944's.
