TDC question
 

I'm not sure if the mark on my distributor housing is the mark that the cam sprocket's mark is suppose to line up to. Just to make sure, which direction should the distributor rotor be facing when the engine is at TDC? Mine is towards the lower right (cylinder 4, I believe.) Is that correct for TDC?

I didn't think it made sense because I thought the spark is suppose to go off when the piston is at the top of its compression stroke (TDC), which would lead me to believe it should be pointing towards cylinder 1 (upper left). But, maybe because of timing and what not it doesn't?

The mark on the housing will approximately line up with the cam sprocket mark. The only way to be sure you are at TDC is to remove the #1 plug and put a dowel (or screwdrived) in the hole and rotate the cranksaft to find your high point. My TDC is not quite at the point where the two marks line up. I dont remember which way the distributor face at that point sorry. at least the #1 plug is easy to get to.

Hm, I know that the crankshaft is at TDC because of the mark on the flywheel. However, the reason why I asked this was because I removed the cam housing and reinstalled it. Before I tighten the cam housing bolts, I wanted to make absolutely certain that the cam was at TDC. Still looking for the direction the rotor faces...

You are correct. TDC for piston one MAY be when the rotor is set to number 1. Remember the piston makes two revs before it starts over one TDC is firing time and the second is completion of the exhaust stroke. Which TDC it is depends on the location of the camshaft. But if your flywheel is at TDC and the timing marks on the cam are aligned, the rotor should point close to number 1 as that should be the compression stroke.
