Crickey mate!

So I bought another NA last week, but never had time to visit the DMV to get it legal to drive. I took my '86 this morning to the DMV - everything went smoothly, came out about an hour later. I started walking towards my car - and got this weird feeling looking at it. I then realised I was parked across two parking places... I've never parked that bad before. I walk closer, and am trying to remember how I parked - when I suddenly realise someone has set peices of my bumper on the rear of the car! I had parked right, someone had "adjusted" backend's placement a couple feet sideways...

So, now I've got two body work projects instead of one...

Dammage doesn't seem to be too bad, everything bumper related will need to be replaced, new tailights, and thats about as far as I can see. I haven't pulled the carpet in the back yet - I'm hoping my shell wasn't hurt. The rear hatch had been popped open, so I may not be in luck there...

Oh man that is terrible. How did they hit your car from the back to make it move perfectly sideways? That just seems really weird... Hopefully the damage isn't too bad.

When I first started reading this it reminded me of when my friends decided (after several beers) that it would be humorous to pick up my car and turn it sideways in a very narrow driveway

Sorry, I left that out. I looked under the bumper to see if they'd left a note there, nope. I called to make my report, and afterwards starting walking carefully around the car, to see what was tweaked. Was a noteunder the windsheild wiper saying "I backed into your car", gave a name and phone number. Left it with the officer. So hopefully things will get taken care of. I don't know whether its realy accurate information yet, didn't get an answer yet from the #.

NKN, by sideways, I meant slid it sideways, as in, say drifting sideways. My back end was sitting partialy in the parking spot next to where I'd parked it. I got a comment from two black guys who'd tried to park next to me aftewards about how "If I drive a $100,000 car I should learn to park it better". Showed them the other side of my car...

On a brighter note - here is what I went to the DMV for.

Looks a lot less good in real life, I tweaked things with my camera when I took the picture. - Never trust pictures for car condition if they look realy sharp - odds are, they've been edited.(Look for high contrast, etc...)

I'm either going dark blue, or Orange. I don't know yet... There's a green I like as well. Saving Mexico Blue for when I get a 951 or Carrera GT.

There was a car on ebay last time I went looking - I could tell the pictures had been touched up. I stayed away.
