Those are '87+ struts. No adjustment knob on top...very strange.

Used shocks

Warehouses get returns on shocks and struts al the time. Give em a whirl. Let me know how they FEEL (who cares how they look)

i am pretty stoked. i'll get some rear koni's in the spring and maybe some stiffer sway bars, if the shocks aren't enough.

wow, I know the seller, have had my car serviced there and am looking for Koni struts. I cant belive I didnt find these when searching ebay.

I wouldnt doubt the usage based on the appearance and knowing the seller. I dont think he is out to screw anyone for a few hundred bucks.

to be honest, the key words for the search were rather obscure. i found them, later tried to find the item again and couldn't. then, i stumbled on the item and bought them.

I got a set of shocks for my truck at a 4x4 shop. Seems plenty of guys buy a Chevy with the Z-71 off-road package, then drive straight to this guy for a suspension lift and big tires.

He had a bin of the gas Bilsteins that he took off of brand new trucks. All four for $25.

I'm sure some Porsche guys do likewise.

Another thought-

The car could have been wrecked. I bought an '87 S that took a hard hit in the nose for a parts car. After I brought it home, I discoverd it had Koni yellows.

I have no use for late offset shocks, so I sold them to a fellow pelicanhead.

Only 100 cars of the 3000+ 944S types to come to the US in 1987 left the factory with the 474 Koni "sports suspension" to the best of my knowledge.

I just used this info on a PCA supplied valuation to make my case on an insurance payoff.

Well, one of them is sitting forelornly on jackstands, missing the engine, tranny, suspension, front bodywork, and Konis, never to be driven again.

the shocks are from heimrath (HP cars) they work on quite a few 944's and have a good racing history so they probably prep a number of cars for the track. Mario the guy who sold the shocks races a 951. it is very possible that the person went straight to coil overs.

the seller told me that the buyer didn't want them on his race prepped car after he bought them.

the koni's arrived today. they look great. there is no wear on them, other than the obvious mounting scuffs.

anyone know how to adjust them?

There should be a tab on the top for the adjustment knob. But based on the eBay pictures it looks nothing like what i have seen with the Koni's.
