what are the odds???!!!

What are the odds that the seal in my rebuilt water pump would go out after 5 days of driving, and then my replacement BRAND NEW pump's seal would go after two weeks of driving? Is there anything to do with my car that could contribute to these faliures?

Sounds like the timing belt may have been installed to tight.
Did you do it yourself, or have a shop install them?

My boss who works on Porsches day and night did the tensioning and he for sure tensioned it to spec for a new belt- 4.0 on the special tool.

My first guess was belt tension, but it sounds like you are OK on that. Sediment in the cooling system is a possibility. You may want to flush everything out (including the heater core). Also, antifreeze lubricates the pump, so if you aren't using any antifreeze, you may want to add some. Make sure it is the correct type. Cavitation can tear up pumps. Make sure the system is bled correctly and that the thermostat is opening properly. Karma - might want to check off an item or two.
