Thumbs up Well here is it my 944 I picked up this week.

After being patient for almost 6 month and losing a lot of deals I finally got a 944. Got a great deal on it. The guys wife wanted the car gone asap and I was there to take it.
Its a 1983, Champagne color with brown/tan interior, mostly everything works except the odometer is working on and off and the gas gauge when read less then half it means it needs to fill up. Otherwise everything else works great, I've put about 400 miles so far since Monday. Body has some dings and scratches but no accidents. So my plans is to slowly clean it up and maintain it.

Nice! Just make sure if the belts haven't been done recently, you put that at the top of your list of things to do!

Enjoy!

I had 3 lined up:
All were under $2000
All were driveable
But it did take me a long time to find the right one.
If you're looking for one under $2k make sure you look it over and get a sense of the owner, if you feel the owner is hiding something then back away. I went to go look at some and some of them couldn't even start when I got there. Funny how some guys just dont check stuff when trying to sell. Anyways, there's great deals to be had you got jump on it before anyone else does. But also, keep in mind that you will probably be spending money later on down the road on timing belt and tune ups. The only thing I really recommend is to make sure the clutch still works great, its over $2k to replace.

The interior does look clean, but it has its issues: Dash is cracked from age, driver seat has a torn seam that runs vertically, gas guage works to the point that when it hits half that means time to fill up, odometer works on and off. But otherwise its pretty clean and the passenger side does look the best.

The exterior, has quite a few dents and dings but none larger the 6 inches, paint chips, front bumper has one of its attach points is cracked so it sags a little.

Mechanically: the car is great, just when its cold the rpms start to wonder between 500-1000 rpm then when it warms up it stops. Exhaust finish is pealing off, but thats fine its a excuse to get a new one. Timing belt was done 20k ago, oil is clean, had a tune up done a few month ago, and it passed smog a year ago.

So it was a great deal, glad I jumped on it first. Cause I have found others under 2k but by the time I was done asking questions they all got sold.

Geeze, what are these cars really worth? Who cares anyway, we love 'em and they are well supported.
