Warm idle, the culprit ???
So, I found half of the part holding the reference sensor inside the transmission housing.. Looks like it was broken and there is some residue of a glue on the part..
Someone attempted to glue the 2 parts together... How prove it was done when they changed the clutch? My car was idling perfectly well before the clutch change.. Any help?

Well that sucks, they apparently didn't take the sensor out to remove the bell housing breaking the bracket. The S2 also has a bronze sleave in the hole for the sensor that has to removed unlike the others. Guess they jerked on the bell housing until the bracket broke.
When you get a new bracket it has to set for height of the sensor to the flywheel. At least you found it Clifton |

Rookie mistake, they obviously have never changed a 944 clutch before.
You need item 12. Part number is 944.101.321.07 or 944.101.031.03 cross check with your VIN. You will also need the tool shown below to set the sensors. Easy job, hardest part is removing the bracket. A tool and used bracket should cost no more than $50 and take an hour to replace. ![]() Tool:
