Key Head Replacement

Bought a new lighted key head replacement, but I'm not sure how to remove the key from the old head. I thought it would just pull out. It's seems to be in the old head pretty tight. Is there a trick to getting it out, or do I just pull harder?

LOL I have the same problem, except I bought a new blank and cant figure out how to get it in the key head.

Where in FFX Station are you? Dont see too many 944s round these parts.

edit- well I just got the blank in. Did you try taking it apart to see if you could get it out? The blank goes in at an angle and then you pivot it to lock it.

I'm about a mile off 123. You don't see many 944's around here. I lost my 83 in a fire and have a 968 now - guess I need to update my signature line. I took the cover of the key head where the battery goes, but that didn't help me much. I tried to pull it out an an angle too. I can see where it would clink inot the neew head so I tried taking it out at the "right" angle from the old head, but no luck. Might need a bigger pair of plies. I need to be careful, this is my only key!

This is how mine comes apart. Pop cover off using a small flat screwdriver on the side with the indentation.

Remove button and battery

Remove the very small piece of plastic to the outside of the spring. 1/8" sqaure

Remove the spring and larger piece of plastic

Now the key is unlocked and will come off the head

Don't loose any pieces!

yes, be careful, there is a spring under the battery and one in the slot of the piece that holds the key in place.
