question to the ontario guys... and anyone else with input.

hey guys, quick question for ya..

I've been tossing around a few things in my head.. one of which was getting a euro rear bumper.. you know, the kind with the single bumper pad that runs across the length of it? Well, problem is... it'll obstruct my license plate i think. And I have the center light between the tail lights, so moving the plate up isn't an option at this time..

the question is, what are the ontario laws about riding with a plate the the corner of the rear window? (that's my absolute last resort)..

second question is, have you got any other suggestions?

i'm betting 10-1 here that the biggest answer will be to lose the rear light bar.. but maybe you've seen something I haven't or can think of something I haven't..

As far as I'm concerned, removing the rear light panel is your best bet. I took mine out and (someday) will mount my plate there as per cars without the light-bar factory fitted. The four unsightly holes left by the light-bar will take a little cosmetic work but shouldnt be too noticeable when done right. :)

...the front plate is the one that really ticks my off lol it looks rediculous attached to the front of the car. But I cant think of anyway to mount it up front other than on the bumper :(

What if you wrapped the plate around the euro bumper. I think you would be fine as long as the numbers were showing.

Hey Kyle, if you gonna get rid of your center light, I'll take it off your hands ;)

hey dan, if in the event I got rid of it, i'd probably make some sort of bedroom nightlight or something out of it.. lol

but i'll keep you in mind if that idea goes south :P

we'll see...

as for wrapping the plate around the bumper... i'm not sure... maybe i'll stop by 11 division today and check the legality on that.. but I'm thinking the light bar removal is the way to go, as much as i like it there.. i like the euro rear bumper better...

Not any help for the rear bumper, but I saw an STI about a year ago where the front plate (Ontario) was trimmed down so that there was just a small border around the numbers. A blue trim bead of some sort was added around the edge and it looked really, really sharp. Certainly illegal, but niiiccee.

I am toying with taking my chances and doing the same with my front when I get my project on the road...

illegal perhaps but you probably wont be bothered unless you are already doing something stupid.

or keep a backup plate in the car with you...

I'll ask my buddy at 11division and see...
