Car won't stay on!!!!....

I'm having a bad monday. Everything was fine and all of a sudden the car wont stay on. Me thinks bad Idle Speed Valve but what do I know. Any thoughts. To top it off my turn signals wont work either. I couldn't imagine they'd be related. I checked all the fuses and their good. All the lights work but signals don't work...it stays steady when they should be flashing.

Change the flasher relay.

Other than that, not sure about your running issue.

Thanks Techno...I'll swap that from my NA parts car.

However,

This is effing wierd...its back to normal but WTF was that. It started but wouldn't stay on..meaing I had to keep reving her otherwise it would die. Well I just drove it on the highway from visiting the GF and by the time I got off the highway its back to normal...so WTF could that have been. A clog in the fuel line...filter. Its a new 3bar FPR...it was certainly fuel related. Thoughts.

not sure why it would be fuel related, being that it would stay running as long as you kept it revved up.

if its the fuel pump, revving would cause it stop running faster, seems to me...

If the pump is delivering marginal pressure, sometimes revving will keep an engine running because it causes the injectors to fire more. I'd definitely check for proper fuel pressure at the rail just to be sure.

You didn't exactly say, but did it run bad cold and then OK once warmed up? If so, it might be the DME temperature sensor.

No it experienced problems after the car was already warm. It started after I got off the highway and oddly it fixed itself afterwards when I went home from visiting the GF.

It happened again. Same scenario this time I noticed something strange. When I have a full tank. I don't notice a problem of the car bogging past 3k rpm. When I'm at a 1/4 tank and last time it was lower thats when I noticed the problem. Also I ran the car at full boost to like 6k rpm like I did last time and same thing happened where it didnt wanna stay on after that run. I'm wondering if I have some crap in the tank that gets kicked around when the tank is lower.

there is the ping pong ball in the gas tank trick... when the fuel level gets low, the ball occludes the fuel pickup. real fun on the old regular fuel cars with the bigger filler tubes.

I don't have any experience with turbos, but how old are the hoses and air boots? How old is the fuel filter? Did this problem start AFTER you put in a new 3.0 Bar FPR? Is the distributor rotor loose?

Glad you got it fixed. I thought it was maybe vacuum related.

Got your voice mail as well.
