18" Wheels from 996 fit S2?

Front: 8 J x 18 ET 52 ; 225/40 ZR 18 tire
Rear: 10 J x 18 ET 65 ; 285/30 ZR 18 tire

Will I need spacers?
Thanks.

Grab a tape measure and use this tool: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

You should be able to see if you will have the clearance.

You sure you want to stuff some 18"s under there? I think I've seen it done before, but it looks like it's at the limit.
-See I need new wheels also
-I really like the styles that only come in 18"
- However I don't want to change/decrease the cars handling in any way.

Thanks Justin.

Based on the calculator, it should fit.
I just don't know if the front bearing grease cup will be a problem.
When I tried my 1993 C2 16-inch wheels on the S2, the grease cover was in the way.
I will probably pass up.

Unless you tweek the suspension, the car will understeer like a pig with those tire sizes.

285's will fit, but I wouldn't want them on my car.

Pretty sure the wheels will fit, front should be ok especially with a little added camber (need spacers I think - see below). I know the rear wheels will fit but unsure about that tire size - I have seen 18" x 10" with 295 on the rear but not sure if any mods were necessary. Agree with Dantilla on tire size balance.

This is from wheel dynamics web site:
"No spacers needed for newer17"- 18" wheels in the 48 mm-65mm et range. All 986, 996, 997, part# wheels will require a 1/4" (7mm) for the front hub. This is so the wheels will mount flush on the hub. This is needed for all newer wheels. 993 part# wheels will not need the spacer.
Most extreme fitment-Front 18x9 et52mm -Rear 18x11 et65mm

18x8et 50mm and 18x10et 65mm on 1991 944 S2 below"

Based on what I've learned here, you should consider replacing the caster blocks any time you go over a 16" wheel. This was pointed out to me by Techno Duck and AE1969...search for the thread if you are interested.

Edit:
Here is the thread:

I don't have the car anymore. I gave it away to my son.
But he was considering changing the wheels to 18's for street use.

Thanks Tom for the info.
I changed to the 968 rear caster block 2 years ago together with lball joint and CNC machined bronze bushes.
Also changed the tie-rod assemblies on both sides.
So the car is ready for wheel upgrades.
