need early 1984- 944 oil pump bolt torque specs.

Anyone know the oil pump bolts recommended torque for the pre-early 1984-944?

Check out the oil pump replacement procedure at clarks garage. Look under Oil Pump in the "Garage Shop Manual"

rickkellog: I checked the shop manual as you suggested and it refers to two bolts M6 and M8. My early 1984 has only one bolt size with different lengths. Could it be that the manual is referring to the later models? Let me know if you have any ideas. Thx.

I have a factory service manual and the Haynes manual, bth are a little confusing. The factory manual only shows an M6 bolt size. Two different lengths. The Haynes manual lists the two different size bolts. However, for both M6 bolts the torque is the same 8Nm (6 ft-lb). The other importnat thing in both manuals is to caot the mating serfaces with Loctite 574 if you ahve separated the pump from the block.

There an early post on this site about Factor Service Manuals. There's a set on Ebay and they were at $56. I paid almost $600 for mine, so if you can get them for even a couple hundred it's a deal.

Someone has all the manuals posted on a different site. Look though the posts for them and grab them while you can get them!
