HELP - need spark plug wire / dist cap order for 87 944S

Long story but I need some direction on which spark plug wire goes where on the distributor on my 87 944S.

I did a search but no luck - any direction would be appreciated. If you have an 87-88 944S perhaps you could take a look and tell me "wire from front cylinder goes to top of dist, wire from second from front goes to second....etc.

Or perhaps you know of a link to diagram???

Thanks!

Thanks Edek but it does not give the precise order of wire connection. I'll keep looking.....

There is a link on that site that brings up a picture of the distributor cap with numbers. Cylinders are numbered 1 through 4, front to back. This is a piece of cake.

Buskey,

Cylinders are numbered 1 to 4 from front to back.
On the distributor cap:

3 (top)
1
2
4 (bottom)

The S is different. The distributor cap has all its connections
vertically on the side towards the driver. The coil plugs in
on the opposite side (passenger).

Even if you buy a new cap, I have found the numberings on
them incorrect.

I forgot that there were two types of caps.

BTW, welcome Darren.

Awesome, thanks Darren, and welcome!

Edek, I should have mentioned that the S is different. Thanks for your help as well.

Bill
