fan only works on "4"
subject says all... cabin fan just stopped on the way home from the grocery store last night... I assume it's a resistor pack, but where do I find it?

On my S2 it's under the bonnet by the fan.It has a wireharness with a flat plug on the end that goes into it and it has 2 phillips screws holding it in.
Cleaned mine up with vinegar and it worked ok.

Mine used to do the same thing. The contacts on the resistor pack are exposed to the elements and need to be cleaned. The fan will only work on four because no resistance is used. Mine usually crapped out on really hot days.

Like other posters suggested: clean the contacts on the resistors. They are actually thermostats because the ceramic resistors get hot. Speed 4 has no resistance and gets 12V.
