No affiliation, but I might be persuaded to go check this car out...
http://detroit.craigslist.org/car/365634654.html Looks like an '80 924 Turbo - definitely seems to have the turbo stuff, though not labeled as such.

Good car to part out. I don't think it would be cost effective to fix.

Sure it would... not really that much wrong. Cost effective? You mean and turn a profit? Well, not on any 924, sure...

Not cost effective to repair and make a decent, dependable daily driver, even if you do all the work yourself. The clutch, exhaust, hasn't started in 4 or 5 years, the paint does not look good on the passenger side. I would guess that to be the better side. Battery has to be shot, gas will have to be drained. Who knows what else is correded in the wiring. Tires have to be shot too. The interrior looks to be par for the course. I think you could get it for $400 as is. I would pay $400 and part it out. The control arms alone will get you your money back. The rest will be gravey. The DME will fetch you some good cash too! I wish I was closer or I would pick it up and start taking it apart. I don't think you could ever get a profit out of repairing it and selling it. Maybe in 50 years you would.

The 924NA models don't have a DME, the Turbos have an ignition control unit, which tends to fail.
The lower control arms rarely fail, the bushes are available and so are the outer ball joints. Bearing in mind the number of trashed 924 models around, how many people want them?

I've not had any problem with bad ECUs, over 3 turbos now...
OK, nevermind, obviously no-one here is interested...
