Progress
I spent 6 hours of the morning scraping tint off of the rear hatch with a few razor blades... I somehow managed to keep the rear defroster intact. The previous owner tried to rip off the tint without using the sunlight/trash bag/ammonia method.
It's really nice to be able to see out of the back while driving! ;) I also finished the front wheel bearings, pads, and rotors. Now it just needs a wash - and for me to install the short shifter and new shift lever and bushings - and it'll be the best beater ever. :D |
here's a tip, clean the window with, s**t you not, 0000 steel wool and *aerosol* glass cleaner (I like Stoner Invisible Glass.) You will never know there was ever tint there, and your windows will be cleaner than ever.
Oddly enough I just came inside from doing just this to a company truck I borrowed for the evening (company car got a flat too late in the day to get it fixed, and I didn't want to drive home and back on a donut.) Tech. to whom the truck was previously assigned apparently chain smoked in it, steel wool works great on nicotine fog as well. nate |
