Question Broken Door Lock - Door Panel Removal

my door lock on the driver side has stopped working. it is in the locked position and I can't unlock the door (manually or with the key).

Also, the door is closed - which makes the removal of the door panel and lock assembly rather difficult.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue? Tips anyone?

it seems that the solution is to swear loudly in german. After managing to open the door I removed the panel.

This was immediately followed by a brain fart. I closed the door - and now it won't open. swearing in german didn't open the door either.

at least I have the panel off and can now order the parts....and open the door the hard way.

another 924 adventure....

Don't you have another door? Get into the car... remove door card? Is it possible with the door closed?

removing the door panel when the door is closed is difficult (if not impossible) without damaging the panel itself.

the clips that hold the panel into the door need to be pried off with a screwdriver but the outer 1/2 inch is covered by other trim that is not part of the door (i.e. trim along the column, dash, etc.). This prevents removal of the panel in the usual manner....unless there is some trick that I don't know about.

Meanwhile i enter/exit from the passenger side. Gotta work on that 'Dukes of Hazard' entry via the driver side window....
