ROW car importing and registration
 

My dad is thinking of picking up an '86 944 ROW car while he's over seas and importing it when he returns to the states in a few years. Any thoughts on how difficult it would be to register, inspect, etc. here in the states?

I currently have a '77 911 Carrera 3.0 that was a ROW only car, and didn't have any trouble registering it in NH, but because of the age of the car, it didn't have to pass an emissions testing - just a typical safety inspection.

Its easy to get into canada with a car that is over 15 years... only had to pay taxes on the reciept value... but we're pretty lax over here...

I have a hard time getting into the states with a tan and a beard... let alone a porsche ;) hahaha
