Carfax Stuff
What is carfax... and will it tell me if a car has a lien against it?

How do i know if the title is new or the only one?

I just bought a 951 from New York (am in Ottawa) and the Carfax showed the lien, but I do not know if it always does. It was a good thing because the owner had actualy forgotten about it and you need the lien discharge to import the car into Canada (and get it plated in Ontario - or so I am told by the MTO)
There is also a similar service in Canada called a CarProof (www.carproof.com) that also provides a US check against the Experian database (which I believe feeds autocheck.com)
