Are all phone dial rims the same size?
Are they?
|
no, you get get phone dials in 15 or 16 inch sizes and various widths and offsets.
|
23.3mm came in 15x7, 16x7 and 16x8.
52.3mm came in 15x6, 15x7, 16x7, 16x8. You also had the magnesium ones from the Turbo cup car that came in 16x9 i think. |
What are the chances that 16x7 inch phone dial rims from a 87 944 turbo will fit in place of my 15x6 inch 87 924s wheels?
|
They will fit fine.

They will fit great! ;-)

would the phone dials off a 1979 US model 928 fit on my 1983 944?
Thanks |
I would definately check the offset first.
I purchased a set of 928 late model phone dials for my late offset 1988 944. the 944 has a 52.3mm offset but the 928 set were 65mm offset. As a result, the wheels sat 3" narrower than my orig 52.3mm offset wheels (thats measured from outside of the tires - total distance was 3" less with the 928 wheels) and it looked funny. The 928 had huge brakes so the offset was increased. I'm not sure about the early 928's but I would definately find out before buying. Vern |
