Here's the car all ready for the trip home. Just a red 944. That happens to have a factory limited-slip tranny and Koni yellows.

The PCA:

An old 914 is just as welcome as a Carrera GT in our local PCA region. Maybe that's because a couple of old 914s kill just about everyone else on the autocross course!

The Northwest region is a big one, with a busy calender. I usually skip the social events, but if it requires a helmet, I'm probably there! True enthusiasts know it's more about driver skill than what car you brung, or how big your checkbook is. True enthusiasts encourage other drivers.

Check out your local region- If they are snobs, you don't have to participate. But I've found that the vast majority of club members are genuinely friendly, and will be glad to have you join them.

I just joined PCA but have not taken advantage of their functions. I will. They get first dibs on track dates at a local track (Summit Point) which means weekends. I've done a lot with the local Audi Club and will continue to do so. The Audi Club is open to all brands when they schedule track days. PCA is all Porsche. A typical Audi Club track day will often have as many Porsches as it has Audis. In fact, I'd venture to say that 944/951 variants are the single most popular car at Audi Club events. It makes sense. It's inexpensive, well balanced, and relatively inexpensive to maintain (for a german car).

There's no cheaper way to get into the PCA!
