Unhappy my heater fan blows full..don't adjust..

hi.. guys.. my 81 931 is blowing fan at full blast.... for the heater/a.c... all the way.. at full blast.. and can't get it to go slower.. adjustments.. don't work.. funniest thing is that.. I think it's another fan.. that's blowing at full blast.. not the one we use to control the fan from the dash... cause.. as I adjust the dash one.. I hear completely another fan going on.. with heater adjust.. etc... is there another fan that can kick in.. to the vent..????? weird... and how do I stop this thing..?? but it is from the fan console by the front windshield... please help... thanks..

Check to see if you pushed the defrost button. When the defrost is on it is one speed, high. And it seams to work independently of the main fan.

If that doesn't work then check the resistor pack for the blower motor. That has been a known problem for some in the past.

O.K... it worked.. faulty switch... I banged the area of the switch.. and it went away... first few did not do it... I sprayed the switch with wd-40, and tried to clean the contacts... but still did not do it.. but the several good bangs near the area.. solved the problem... I think I might have a ground problem somewhere... but for now problem went away... thanks.... good day..
