HELP...I need a compressor wheel !!

KKK K26 2660 GA 4.10 turbocharger

Part Number 5326 123 2007

It is for my '81 931. The PO left a intake nut and bolt he dropped inside the turbo, and wondered why it didn't work. I just got the turbo out to rebuild...when what to my wondering eyes did appear...but compressor wheel with no fins !

Yeah, its real ugly.

If anybody has any ideas of where I might be able to get one of these, or if they happen to have one kicking around...I would appreciate it

I agree, we NEED to see a picture of this!!

I have bought rebuild parts and kits from these guys before:
http://www.gpopshop.com/kkkkits.html

I have never had a bad experience with them.

Good luck!

I have a k26/6 from a 944 turbo good for parts in need of a rebuild if that works for you, $50 plus shipping.

If nobody else has anything by next week, I,ll take a look through some of my stuff. If you have access to a machine shop, Caster's offer is a good one. The K26 of a 944 has better effiency & flow than a K26 of the US924. The 944 cold side or compressor housing does not have the bypass valve & the elbow up to the fuel distutor a 924 has. The 944 wheel itself has a bigger dia at inlet & I'm thinking a slightly bigger at outlet. You would have to machine your 924 housing for the 944 compressor wheel.

I will get some pics up tonight !

I would think that it would have had to go through the engine as I cannot find hide nor hair of them fins anywhere. The metalic exhaust was probably cool to watch tho...

Well then who knows what kind of damage the engine suffered. Is the exhaust wheel intact?

It ran like a champ, just no turbo. I don't beleive that it ground them down in one bite...more of a cumulative effect. There is a deposit on the exhaust side turbine blades that has been difficult to remove. I almost think that this could be an aluminum particle coating. Either way the turbo is a mess that I need to get sorted...wastegate is next....yee haw !

I just took them today. They will get posted around 5:30 pm est.

Remember, you view them at your own risk. If you have a weak stomach...you might want to put off eating anything until after you view the pictures

NICE!!
I have seen some catastrophic turbo failures before, usually from oil starvation, or bearing slip and the comp wheel riding on the housing, that
is just plain crazy!

I am amazed the entire engine isn't an expensive paper weight!
