Got myself a real car! no more messing with parts/project cars for me!

hey guys, thought i would show you all my new baby, courtesy of idesign365 (thanks patrick!). I've spent every waking hour of the last two days going over the exterior of this car bringing the paint back, the first two pictures show this. I'm going to get some more pics up soon of interior and such once i've cleaned those areas!

Thanks guys!
Ethan

P.S. Patrick you'll be glad to know i've made exponential improvements on my ability in driving stick! I'm much smoother than before, practice make perfect!
P.P.S. i do have a technical question for this thread! There is a small crack in the exhaust pipe in front of the cat, could i pull the exhaust from my 84 parts car and use it on my 87 nice car?

Thanks again!

Nice... I know how you feel on the waxing thing. Its very painful yet oddly rewarding. I think I've done mine 5 times now.
Once with Zymol. Then the meguiars 3step. then finished it with Rain-dance. If you can find it rain dance is the stuff. Now im gunna have to hit it with wax/grease remover b/c it got hit and i want the new paint to stick good. GRR.

Take it to a muffler shop and ten minutes and ten bucks will have that exhaust fixed. ...another option. Congrats on the new car.

Ethan, I forgot to give you the passenger floor mat. I found it in the basement last night.

thanks for the praise and the advice!
I'll get that floormat from you when i get the paint and the whatever else you were going to give me...haha.

it is true that there are projects that i would like to complete pertaining to certain aspects of this car, however my experience with these cars was pretty bad up until now, where EVERYTHING was a project with the car, there was nothing good going for it...so i'm allowed to not call this a project car even if it does need some touch-up here and there! haha!

Ethan

Ok so first i was just messing with some zymol that i had been using on my bbike and i tried it on the car and it looked good but faded in a couple of washes. So i went and bought the meguiars three step process stuff and did all of it. Once i was finished my dad gave me this old bottle of Rain-dance and i used it as a sealed and it still looks great.

alright, UPDATE!!! today was a LONG and AWESOME day...first my dad and i fixed the drivers side foglight (the bulb was burned out and the two front screws were so corroded when we went to take them off the heads broke off...fun stuff...plus the ground wire had broken and the metal stuff had all corroded really bad), so everything there works. Then my dad and i got the 951 rear valance on with some difficulty, lots of manly grunting and swearing etc. Then i decided to clay bar my car, rubbing compound the areas that still weren't brightening up, then polish those areas with polishing compound, then clay bar those areas again, then wax the whole FREAKING car with meguiars nxt 2.0....let me just say....WOOOOOOOW!!!! holy crap it looks amazing now! I'll get pics first thing tomorrow, it was dark when i finished waxing haha!

Nothing like father son bonding....
I guess he may have taught you a few new words getting that fog light off?

Glad to hear it is coming along well. I cant wait to see it like it was, after I went thru the same cleaning process when I bought it.
