dme relay

driving around the other day, my car kept dying... i'd go to start it and it'd just crank and crank and crank... it would start and then either die immediately, or let me drive it another block or two but die again.

I've had major vac leaks in my car before and this doesn't feel like that... there's no sputtering or anything.. it just *shuts off*.

not the ignition switch because coasting after my car shut down i wasn't able to put it in gear and pop the clutch to start it...

I'm leaning on dme relay...

with that said, where is it located on the relay board on the early cars?

Ignition switch. My $.02. Easy fix and cheap place to start. Have you tried jumpering the fuel pump yet, Kyle?

clarks tells how to jump the relay, it's an easy and cheap way to see if that's your problem, all you need is a few peices of wire and some crimp on electrical connections. I used to keep one in my car just incase.

Kyle,
My DME relay went out last summer. The good news was that I had a spare in the glove box. The bad news was that when I went to put it in the relay base just hinged backwards so the relay did not connect to the base. From the front side it looked fine. I figured it out after getting a tow home.
Just something to watch out for.
Jerry
