Lots of cars are faster than a 944 including many wagons, 4 doors, pickup trucks, etc...just depends what you're going for.

The average 1/4 time for the 944 is always a few ticks over 15.5 seconds. 0-60 times you will be lucky to break the high 7 second range even considering you have a ROW car i think.

There are many variables to determine what makes a car "better". The handling on a 944 beats almost anything out there (IMHO).

But yes, many things out there will beat a 944 in top speed & 1/4 mile.

And yes, that Civic will beat a 944 NA 0-60. Honda had an ad out in '88 for the Civic CRX that had the tagline, "If the Civic is too fast, you can always buy a Porsche 944."

The 80's Volvo Turbo station wagons are faster 0-60 than the 944 NA.

alina, the NA is not "faster" in a 0-60.
A turbo might have a chance.
