Suspension Replaced
So if you have been following along, I have been sweating getting the car prepped for a DE on Sat and Sun. Tonight UPS guy shows up at 6:55pm and hands me a huge box of parts for my kid's go-kart. I say thanks and ask if I can help with the other two boxes. He looks at me like I am nuts. Hmm... tracker says they are on your truck... no they are not he says. He calls another truck. While on the phone with the other truck he realizes there are two "extra" boxes in the back. My heart starts beating again
![]() 7pm I start on the left front strut and spring... two rear shocks and the right front spring and strut later here I sit at 11pm. Total suspension replacement (minus torsion bars) in four hours... not too bad I don't think??? ![]() Let's play a quick game of "Who can find the failed damper"... ![]() Brand new spring and strut... nice stuff!!! ![]() Hmm... my old strut adjuster would no longer even turn... these are fancy and yellow powder coated adjuster tabs!!! Nice stuff... full hard and half turn back. Should make the ride interesting!!! ![]() So tomorrow I should just have to flush the cooling system and install the new t-stat, new lower radiator hose and get it all bled... this is after repacking both front bearings, turning the rotors, replacing both rear wheel bearings, repacking one CV joint before finding the receipt that says the axles only have 12,000 miles on them, oh yeah... I rebushed both front control arms too. Hmm... I can only hope that all that work gets me through the two day DE with no problems, yeah right!!! Not bad for two weeks work if I do say so myself. (I need a pat on the back)

*pats turtle on back*
Yeah that looks like you have done some work, hopefully you will be very pleased with your weekend. Ive been meaning to get around to my nice and old shocks, but I havent really had the motivation lately with the car not running and all. But thanks to this, I think I may have some interest. How long did it take you to do the suspension?

Nice job...we have all been there. Try doing that kind of work staying at home with a 2 and 5 year old !!! I busted my but from March-May getting my car ready for summer. And yesterday I spent the day taking the bottom seat cushions off so I could bring them to the shoe repair shop in town...the entire time saying...oh yes I can put these back together no problem...oh look cool Recaro sticker...
